mselect is looking to hire a Human Resources (HR) Manager for an oil and gas service client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to lead all aspects of the human resources function. The HR Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws and internal policies. This role will play a vital part in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Strategy and Policy Development
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to support company objectives and legal compliance
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the organization through workforce planning and HR initiatives
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and hire top talent across departments
  • Oversee onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration of new hires into the organization
Employee Relations and Engagement
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication and conflict resolution
  • Handle employee grievances, investigations, and disciplinary actions as needed
Performance Management
  • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to support employee development
  • Collaborate with department heads to set goals and monitor employee progress
Training and Development
  • Identify training needs and coordinate programs to enhance employee skills and productivity
  • Promote continuous learning and career development initiatives
HR Compliance and Records
  • Ensure adherence to Iraqi labor laws, social security regulations, and internal policies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation
Compensation and Benefits
  • Oversee payroll inputs and coordinate with Finance to ensure timely processing
  • Evaluate and administer employee benefit programs
Reporting and HR Metrics
  • Provide regular reports and insights on HR metrics to senior management
  • Use data to guide decision-making and improve HR processes

REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Iraqi labour law and HR best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required
