mselect is looking to hire an MEP Consultant for a facilities management company in Riyadh, KSA. Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a facilities management managing agent role with proven experience in managing high-profile or VIP client facilities. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Purpose
The MEP Consultant is responsible for providing comprehensive technical and managerial expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the scope of facilities management. The role focuses on ensuring that all MEP systems operate efficiently, reliably, and safely while complying with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The MEP engineer will oversee maintenance planning, energy management, performance optimization, and contractor supervision to achieve operational excellence, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. In addition, the position supports the development and implementation of asset management strategies, condition assessments, and improvement projects to enhance system performance and lifecycle value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on MEP systems in accordance with international and Saudi standards (SFG20, SBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, BS, ISO, etc)
  • Coordinate with service provider on day-to-day MEP operations to ensure system reliability, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort
  • Review and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Monitor and evaluate service provider performance, conduct gap analyses, and implement improvement plans
  • Review MEP design drawings, technical submissions, and O&M documentation for compliance and quality
  • Conduct energy audits and recommend efficiency improvement measures and sustainability initiatives
  • Lead condition assessments, prepare technical reports, and provide cost estimates for equipment replacement or upgrades
  • Support testing, commissioning, and asset handover for new installations and refurbishment projects
  • Ensure all MEP systems comply with Saudi building code, electrical and mechanical safety regulations, and environmental requirements
  • Manage maintenance budgets and ensure cost optimization without compromising quality or safety
  • Provide expert advice to clients on system reliability, energy performance, and maintenance strategies
  • Train and mentor FM staff and service providers on best practices in MEP operations, maintenance, and safety
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and seamless facility operations
  • Oversee emergency response systems and implement preventive measures to avoid critical equipment failures
  • Support digital transformation initiatives, including BMS optimization, CMMS data accuracy, and energy monitoring tools
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Leadership and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple service providers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency programs and sustainability frameworks
  • Excellent communication and client engagement skills
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; professional certifications such as PMP, CFM, or FMP are preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a facilities management managing agent role
  • Proven experience supporting high-profile or VIP clients
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel across multiple sites
  • Solid technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills to manage multiple service providers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency programs and sustainability standards
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
