mselect is looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 15 years of experience within the oil and gas onshore/offshore industry, both brownfield and greenfield. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible to analyse, determine root cause failure and recommend remedial solutions to ensure proper troubleshooting of reported problems on static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, flares, filters, various packages, cranes etc The senior mechanical engineer is required to support maintenance, asset integrity, operations with their daily activities, manage the Concept/FEED/EPC design work for asset development projects carried out by Contractors and that are managed in-house, remaining life and fitness for service assessment, provide all asset related inputs to major project team concerning mechanical static equipment
- Key accountabilities include ensuring the efficient project implementation, proactive facility improvement and technical Integrity in conjunction with client Standards and Shell DEP for the field’s surface facilities specific to static equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor's in mechanical engineering. A chartered engineer is preferred or working towards it
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas onshore/offshore industry, both brownfield and greenfield, that includes a minimum of 10 years in facilities design (front-end, conceptual, and detailed design) and a minimum of 5 years in project execution, including construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance (including field troubleshooting)
- Computer literacy- Ability to operate standard computer software, such as Microsoft applications
- Well conversant with Mechanical design software such as Pvelite & CodeCal or equivalent, and international codes and standards
- Knowledge of rotating equipment
- Logical thinking and analytical skills
- Good presentation, communication, and written skills. Interpersonal ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, Aptitudes for taking initiatives
- Working knowledge of the company's business processes and regulatory requirements
- Managing and measuring work using appropriate metrics and key performance indicators
