KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Oversight and Leadership:
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of multiple projects simultaneously
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders
- Manage risks, resolve issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
- Develop and enforce project management frameworks, tools, templates, and best practices
- Ensure consistency, documentation, and process compliance across all active projects
- Coordinate between departments (Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Admin) for smooth project execution
- Assign and monitor resources to optimize workload distribution and meet project needs
- Support hiring or onboarding of temporary project-based personnel when needed
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on project progress, updates, and escalations
- Lead project kick-off and review meetings with clients and internal teams
- Ensure client expectations are understood, documented, and met throughout the project lifecycle
- Track project performance using KPIs, cost tracking, and progress milestones
- Prepare and deliver regular project reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Implement project close-out procedures including documentation and lessons learned
- Identify and implement improvements in project delivery, communication, and coordination
- Conduct post-project evaluations and apply feedback to enhance future performance
In-depth knowledge of Iraqi government contract regulations, laws, and compliance requirements, especially within the oil and gas sector.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor's or master's in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or PMO role
- Proven experience delivering engineering or EPC projects in oil and gas or infrastructure sectors
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, ERP systems)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Fluent in English and Arabic
