mselect is looking to hire a QC Inspector Blast/Paint (Jacket) for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the quality requirements of the fabrication, construction and installation activities, as detailed in the client’s main contractor-approved QC procedure and plans, are implemented in accordance with the client’s approved project documents
- Ensure that contractors, sub-contractors and vendors have the required competent resources, implant internationally acceptable practices and deliver a product in compliance with corporate and project quality requirements
- Monitor all site and fabrication yard coating activities and ensure that all welding joints were coated as per approved standards
- Carry out systematic inspection at each stage of surface preparation, painting/wrapping and repair works
- Witness all contractors’ painters and blaster's qualifications carried out by the paint manufacturer and evaluate their associated testing results
- Verify the implementation of the proposed inspection system for all preparatory, painting and wrapping work via a series of hold points in the work schedule, from which the contractor shall not proceed until he is given formal clearance by the engineer
- Monitor the stage (in-process) inspection of offshore steel structure fabrications, and top-side facilities at contractor fabrication premises and verify the product conformity to a corporate standard, project specs, and international codes/standard
- Report daily to the QA/QC engineer and advise him on the client’s main contractor compliance with contract procedures and standards and any matters affecting quality
Requirements
- Qualification: Minimum high technical school or equivalent Painting certification from a recognized organization such as NACE, TWI etc. NACE LEVEL II OR BGAS-CSWIP GRADE II is a must
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry with an international consultancy company, third-party inspection/certification Company, EPIC contractor or end user in major project implementation is essential
