mselect is looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years relevant postgraduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to the Oil & Gas industry. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical design and engineering services in Rotating Equipment Engineering for all assigned engineering projects, achieving the technical quality of work by client procedures, whilst considering quality, schedule, cost, and HSE
- Conduct Rotating Equipment Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects, from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning
- Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed, in work scopes and whilst conducting Rotating Equipment Engineering Activities
- Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices
- Support the Engineering Department to review, update, and apply client standards and client amendments to external standards
- Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidisciplinary engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements
- Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects and other engineering activities
- Ensure that the work scope is comprehensive and clear
- Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organizations for scope compliance
- Liaise with contracted organizations to resolve technical issues
- Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities, and ensure effective project delivery
- Evaluate technical bid packages for scope compliance
- Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/Variations to approved guidelines and practices
- Support the development of personal technical competency and skills, and those of co-workers
- Participate in structured training for Associate Engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering
- Chartered Engineer/ Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable
- Minimum 10 years of relevant postgraduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to the Oil & Gas industry
- Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Rotating Equipment Engineering
- Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in engineering projects within a multiple-project environment
- Good communication and presentation skills with fluency in English
