mselect is looking to hire a Warehouse Manager for an international energy client in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse and logistics management within the oil & gas sector. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Purpose
The Warehouse Manager is accountable for implementing, maintaining and improving the storage of the spare parts related to the operation and maintenance activities of the solar plant, aiming for a safe, optimised, cost-efficient and reliable performance of the plant in compliance with the relevant policies

Main Activities
  • Responsible for the warehouse management of solar in accordance with the relevant health, safety, and environmental rules
  • Responsible for implementing and continuously improving the storage and procurement process within the operation & maintenance scope
  • Responsible for the correct use and up-to-date information available in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMs)
  • Manage warehouse budget
  • Supervise, coordinate and lead the activities of a subcontracted team of warehouse assistants
  • Ensure that the relevant health, safety and environment rules are respected within the activities performed in the warehouse
  • Responsible for disseminating and applying policies and directives within the team

Operational Activities
  • Manage the warehouse logistics, ensuring that each maintenance operation has access to consumables, parts, and equipment under optimal cost and timing conditions
  • Ensure the availability of parts and equipment to support smooth maintenance operations
  • Monitor and optimize stock levels, order status, and deliveries according to the criticality of expressed needs
  • In coordination with the procurement and contract manager and the O&M director, contribute to the annual purchasing plan for Solar’s assets during the operational phase
  • Responsible for monitoring and providing a monthly report regarding the use of inventories and consumption levels of stocks
  • Identify parts at risk of obsolescence and propose solutions to mitigate the risk of shortages
  • Troubleshoot in a timely and safe manner, problems of material delivery to the site
  • Participate with the O&M director in determining and reviewing Solar’s warehousing policies and strategies with respect to warehousing, developing, recommending and ensuring implementation of approved policies and procedures aimed at facilitating optimum utilization of existing manpower, equipment and space
  • Propose and implement KPIs to measure coverage and identify trends to adjust the needs assessment
  • Contribute to decisions regarding outsourcing certain warehouse activities, with or without the provision of parts
  • Negotiate subcontracting contracts, ensure follow-up and participate in their evaluation
  • Work closely with the procurement & contract manager to negotiate the contracts related to services and materials supply
  • Ensure the dissemination and compliance with the relevant safety rules
  • Specify development and evolution needs for information systems to enhance digitization, traceability, and automation of activities from need expression to invoicing
  • Responsible for proposing and defining new features of the CMMs, aiming for the overall efficiency improvement and solar performance optimization

Other Activities
  • Build a network of logistics partners, supervise relationships with carriers
  • Companioning/training of local junior warehouse managers and development of the training plan from a logistics and organization discipline standpoint

Requirements
  • Degree specialized in business, industrial logistics, or production management
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including logistics experience in a multi-site group
  • Good communication and organizational skills proven in a multicultural environment
  • Familiar with the challenges of digitalization and responsible for initiating and monitoring the development of new tools
  • The jobholder shall be prepared to work in a remote area and be self-motivated
  • Demonstrates strong autonomy and professional rigor in work execution
  • Proficient in its tools (computerized maintenance management system)
  • Fluent in Arabic and English
