mselect is looking to hire an HVAC Specialist for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have 8-10 Years’ experience in HVAC systems and AC units within a large industrial plant, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Purpose
The role of an HVAC Specialist involves the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems within the process area. This includes performing preventive and shutdown maintenance, as well as conducting inspections, repairs, installations, and commissioning of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, install, and repair HVAC, air conditioning, ventilation and heating systems
- Troubleshoot issues with industrial HVAC system
- Conduct performance tests with specialized tools and adjust system settings to keep the system reliable
- Downloading and uploading programs in PLCs such as Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradly etc
- Troubleshoot and repair the smart VRF HVAC units which have BLDC motors and programmed electronic cards
- Carry out brazing with oxyacetylene set to replace compressors, rectify copper pipe leaks and modify refrigerant pipelines
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls, including thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, log switches, damper motors, louvres, relays, filters, controls, belts, compressors, heat exchangers, high limit controls, pressure controls
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, brazing torch, vacuum pumps, and test equipment utilized
- Install and calibrate systems; install copper tubing and repair pipes and tubing as necessary; test joints and insulate pipes of HVAC, and air conditioning systems; flush rebuild pressure and temperature
- Install compressors, evaporators, motors, ducts, and piping as well as mechanical/electrical controls; read and interpret blueprints/diagrams
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and repair malfunctioning HVAC systems and components; utilize measuring and testing instruments
- Demonstrated exceptional time management skills; organized and prioritized a high volume of work orders to ensure maximum quality
Requirements
- Engineering Degree/Diploma in HVAC
- Proven 8-10 Years’ experience in HVAC systems and AC units within a large industrial plant, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
- Computer and software skills: advanced in Excel, and intermediate in both Word and PowerPoint
- Intermediate Proficiency in SAP system (Materials & Maintenance Modules)
- Intermediate Proficiency in English verbal & written
Skills
- Knowledge of Materials, methods and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC
- knowledge of Welding and soldering techniques
- Proper methods of storing equipment
- Aware of the PTW system and working in the Oil field
- Have IT Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, SharePoint etc…)
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Work cooperatively with others
- Work independently with little direction
- Meet schedules and timelines
- Maintain routine records and prepare reports
