mselect is looking to hire a Project Manager for a consultancy client in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a blend of technical and project management roles.

Job Purpose
The company is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a solid background in the oil and gas industry to join its team in Erbil. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing technical projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget. The role requires a balance of technical expertise and project management leadership, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage end-to-end execution of oil and gas projects, from initiation to closure
  • Develop and oversee project plans, budgets, schedules, and resources
  • Ensure all projects comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, data management, and commercial teams
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, including government authorities, contractors, and clients
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports, dashboards, and recommendations to senior management
  • Oversee integration of technical data and system analysis into project workflows

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geosciences, or Project Management (Master’s or PMP certification is a plus)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a blend of technical and project management roles
  • Proven experience managing project budgets and delivering complex projects successfully
  • 1–2 years of experience in a hands-on technical role such as geology, geophysics, or petroleum engineering
  • 1–2 years of experience in a project management role; PMI training or similar a plus
  • Experience managing a budget
  • Good organizational, coordination and communication skills (written and oral, in English)
  • Demonstrable skills in office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, draw.io or similar
  • Basic understanding of system analysis and architecture
  • Basic understanding of technical data management
  • Willingness to learn, self-motivated
  • Knowledge of the wider Oil & Gas industry, specifically including Upstream, Gas to Power and Technical Data
  • Fluency in both English and Kurdish is required
