mselect is looking to hire a Security Coordinator for an international oil and gas operator in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of progressive, responsible experience in various security-related positions, either supporting or working directly within the oil and gas Industry. Fluency in English and Kurdish is a must, and Arabic is a plus.
Job Purpose
Responsible for Security Coordination for all Journey Management activities. Ensuring that all security-related matters are conducted according to Asset Protection regulations as stipulated by the relevant KRG Ministries, Company policies, international best practice and in accordance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights to facilitate and support exploration and development and related activities in Kurdistan, Iraq. The prime work location will be based in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. There will be one position, with two people sharing the role on back-to-back rotation schedules.

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate transportation for all airport pick-up and drop-off bookings
- Coordinate all Journey Management for movements to and from Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, including field locations, tracking all travel movements
- Provide a security brief/update for new arrivals or returning employees
- Arrange and oversee all daily local movements and maintain records
- Allocate appropriate resources according to Movement Requests
- Coordinate with any Private Security Company (PSC) and other transport contractors
- Liaise daily with the Coordinator of Asset Protection Field
- Collate and review weekly vehicle inspection checklists and report to the AP/CR Manager
- Liaise with the PSC Mobile Escort Team Leaders and the PSC representative periodically
- Report any security incidents/updates to the AP/CR Manager
- Coordinate with local security contacts or Asaish and communicate relevant intelligence to the AP/CR Manager
- Responsible for the implementation of safety and security at the Sulaymaniyah office
- Support the AP/CR Manager with security or emergencies
- Such other services within the Employee’s capabilities by the client may be requested from time to time
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in various security-related positions, either supporting or working directly within the Oil and Gas Industry
- Additional vocational certifications for Health and Safety, Security Training, Watchkeeper training, and Driver Training would be highly beneficial
- Language requirements: English & Kurdish - must speak, read, and write fluently
- Advanced working expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate complex concepts orally in English and Kurdish
- A motivated person able to work independently for long periods
- Has good judgment, with initiative and can remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to make quick decisions in emergencies or when rapid response is required
- Able to efficiently priorities activities and assignments, allocating appropriate time and resources
