mselect is looking to hire a Technical Security Engineer for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar type of role. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
Job Purpose
The Technical Security Engineer (TSE) is to provide preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and basic installations to all technical security systems, including both hardware and software. The systems include but are not limited to a radar system, Electro-Optical, Access Control System, CCTV, Security Communication Network and Integrated security STAR (Surveillance, Tracking, Alarming, Response) system. This position will fulfil general daily security operations from technical security aspects. It will satisfy the requirements of small-scale technical system expansions.

Key Responsibilities
- Health and Safety proficiency in line with agreed Site standards, able to comply with all the regulations and willing to attend additional courses as required to ensure all requirements for support of systems are met
- Preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and basic installations are performed on all technical security systems, including both hardware and software. The systems include but are not limited to: A radar system, Electro-Optical, Access Control System, CCTV, Security Communication Network and Integrated security STAR (Surveillance, Tracking, Alarming, Response) system
- Provide daily end-user security system operations Tier-1 support, troubleshooting
- Security system device replacement installation and small-scale security system expansion installation as per requirements
- Follow department technical support procedures
- On-call tasks based on-line managers' work plan and arrangement
Requirements
Experience:
Have 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar type of role.
Education:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics, electricity, mechanical or other technical engineering relevant majors
- Experiences in security systems and IT systems will add advantages
- Ability to speak English
- Knowledge of general security systems, including but not limited to access control systems, CCTV systems, IP networks, radio systems, physical barriers
- Basic Knowledge of IT: MS Windows Server, Linux system, IP network,
- Basic Knowledge of the ITIL framework
- High level of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness
- A high degree of self-discipline takes responsibility, punctual and dependable
- Ability to concentrate for long periods
- Ability to work under stress
- Skills in electronics/physics and math
- Detail oriented
- Ability to think logically and troubleshoot problems
- Ability to speak and write good English and communicate well
- Ability to drive
- Initially on a 14/14 work pattern with 105 hours shifts
- Be able to live away from home when on shift
- Work under stress and potentially over long periods to overcome technical difficulties and get technical issues resolved
- Multiple task management with tight deadlines
